Activities

We offer daily island excursions to both the most popular areas and to the off-the-beaten path places. These excursions are a great way to meet fellow guests and to experience the amazing beaches, beautiful mountains and lush jungles on the island of Oahu. Whether you want to be active and splash in the sea or lounge in the sun, the Polynesian Hostel's excursions have something for everyone.

Sea Kayaking

This is a comfortable kayak trip across beautiful Kailua Bay to the remote Moku Lua Islands. Bring your lunch to the island and snorkel, swim, sunbathe, and eat. Surf some waves along the way for a bit of adventure

Pearl Harbor – Free

Experience WWII history at Pearl Harbor. Spend a few hours visiting the Arizona Memorial and museums. Pear Harbor goes every Sunday morning.  There are limited spots so to make a reservation with the desk.

Moose's

Dancing and fun. Cheap drinks on Tuesdays.

Red Lion

Pool, Darts, Cheap Beer on Monday.

Diamond Head

Hike to the top of Diamond Head Crater to get a great view of Waikiki.

Yoga - Free

Waikiki Shopping Plaza has free yoga Monday-Friday @2pm.

Other Activities

These activities are NOT currently operating with the hostel although they are possible during your stay!

Sunset Sail

Experience the beauty of Oahu from the sea. Sail on a luxury catamaran past majestic Diamond Head Crater while sipping tropical drinks and listening to island music. It is not unusual to spot dolphins and sea turtles on this one ....especially after a few drinks!

North Shore

Famous for big wave surfing, the North Shore beaches offer so much more! Stop for lunch in cozy cafes in historic Haleiwa Town before beginning the adventure. After lunch, swim with turtles and leap from lava rocks in Waimea Bay. Next, snorkel the untouched reef of Pupukea Beach Park. Wrap up the day at the famous surf beaches – Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach.

South Shore

Though not as famous as the North Shore, the South Shore has much to offer. Hike the Makapu’u trail to relaxing salt pools and watch for whales when in season. Visit amazing rugged beaches, including Eternity Beach, made famous in the movie “From Here to Eternity” and Sandy Beach, world-renound for perfect boogie boarding waves.

Waterfall Hike

Spend a day strolling through the dense jungles of Oahu en route to majestic waterfalls where you can leap from heights into refreshing pools.

Beach Barbeque

All-you-can-eat chicken, burgers and hotdog's grilled fresh in beautiful Kapiolani Beach Park.

Pub Crawl

Take a tour of Waikiki’s nightlife. Many pubs and clubs are open until 4 a.m., so be prepared to revel for hours!
